Pitcher of the week: Caipirinha

The World Cup may be over, but we can at least pretend to still be lounging poolside in Brazil with these pitchers of Caipirinhas courtesy of Martha Stewart:


    • 6 limes, ends trimmed, cut lengthwise into 8 wedges, then crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces
    • 3/4 cup simple syrup
    • 2 cups cachaca, chilled
    • 5 cups ice
    • 1 cup cold water


  1. Place limes and simple syrup in a large pitcher and muddle until limes begin to break down. Add cachaca, ice, and cold water to pitcher. Stir well and serve.
